The Casey Jones Chapter of the Train Collectors Association (TCA) held their bi-monthly train sale and show at St George's Episcopal Church in Germantown, TN this past weekend. The show is held on the first Saturday of every even month except for August and is open to both TCA members and the public.
A big draw for both adults and kids was the Ron Williams Memorial Layout, a 6'x24' (WxL) O gauge model railroad reconstructed and maintained by the Casey Jones Chapter in honor of late TCA member Ron Williams. It features mainly older trains and accessories that give a glimpse of what toy trains looked like during the 1950s and '60s. This time a few modern trains made an appearance on the layout as well! Another popular attraction was the recently-updated Kids Club area, which is a TCA program designed to introduce kids to toy trains and give them an idea of what the hobby is all about. The kids got to eat treats and work on small train-related projects. Of course, it would be no show without the sales tables! We had 27 tables at the February show containing all sorts of trains, accessories and parts for sale. A big thanks goes out to all of the TCA members, volunteers and vendors/sellers that helped make this show happen!
