With a proportional size of 1:220, Z scale is one of the smallest scales in model railroading. Its tracks are a mere one-quarter inch apart! The small size of Z scale provides flexibility in a small space and almost unlimited creativity in a larger space. Entire cities or even regions of a country can be modeled in great detail without consuming a huge amount of real estate.
This Memphis group was formed in 2005. The original railroad consisted of 2'x6' module with 33 feet of track. A new layout is in the early stages of construction and will eventually feature two mainlines and two large freight yards totaling about 500 feet of track.
